Ocean Sciences (OS) carries out a variety of oceanographic projects in the fields of physical, biological, and chemical oceanography. GERG operates the Texas Automated Buoy System (TABS), a network of data buoys in Texas coastal and offshore waters which record and report ocean currents, water properties and meteorological data. Our experienced staff designs, builds, and integrates buoy systems for both shallow and deepwater applications. GERG has systems in place for remote data collection, analysis, and internet display of oceanographic data in near-real-time. Our marine technicians are experienced with mooring design and deployment in both shallow and deep waters, coring operations, moored and underway ADCP data collection, and data collection using profiling instrumentation. GERG maintains a large inventory of oceanographic equipment for use on our projects and for use by other scientists.
