Capabilities

The OS includes highly experienced personnel with more than 125 years of collective experience. This experience can be used for:

  • Data management for large and small projects
  • Hydrographic survey cruises
  • Physical, chemical and biological oceanographic data collection using an extensive inventory of instrumentation and sampling tools
  • Current meter mooring design and deployment
  • Shipboard and bottom mounted Acoustic Doppler Current Profilers (ADCP) data collection and processing
  • Design and fabrication of Ocean Observations Systems
  • Sampling and imaging devices used with deep-submergence vehicles.
  • Scientific cruises using submarines in the Gulf of Mexico
  • The operation and deployment of a wide diversity of ocean instrumentation.
  • Scientific diving to 120 ft.
  • Analysis and quality assurance of oceanographic time series, hydrographic, and satellite remote sensing data
