Norm Guinasso and John Walpert attend Oceans '09 Conference in Biloxi

The Oceans '09 MTS/IEEE Conference will take place October 26 - 29 in Biloxi, Mississippi. The conference theme is "Marine Technology for our Future: Global and Local Challenges". Both Dr. Norman Guinasso and John Walpert will give presentations on the Texas Automated Buoy System (TABS). Norm will provide an overview of the past 15 years of TABS in his presentation entitled "Texas Automated Buoy System". John will describe the responder buoy in his "A New Buoy for Oceanographic and Spill Response Applications" presentation. Both Norm and John are co-authors on presentations by Ruth Mullins and Dr. Stephan Howden. Ruth will present "Real-Time Environmental Monitoring from a Wind Farm Platform in the Texas Hypoxic Zone" and Stephan will describe "The Central Gulf of Mexico Ocean Observing System: Development, Resiliency and Lessons Learned".
